Lodging Recommendations
Recommendations
NYC is quite large and is split into 5 boroughs. We recommend staying in one of three: Queens, Manhattan, or Brooklyn. Any of the three are anywhere from 5-25 minutes from either the ceremony or venue.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with the city, please see some practical advice below:
If you choose to stay in our beloved Queens
…know that you are closest to the ceremony and can choose to use ride share services, or take the 7 train to the Vernon Blvd-Jackson Av stop. We also live here and are 5-10 minutes from any hotel we’ve listed.
If you choose to stay in busy Manhattan
…you may also use ride share services to get to Queens. Bear in mind that it is free but longer for cars to take Queensboro bridge. A shorter, but tolled route is the midtown tunnel. To use public transportation, we recommend staying somewhere along the 7 line. Major stops in Manhattan are: Grand Central 42nd Street, 5th Avenue Bryant Park, and Hudson Yards.
If staying in bohemian Brooklyn
…staying in Greenpoint puts you closer to the ceremony. Staying in Williamsburg makes you equidistant to both the ceremony and venue, and staying in DUMBO puts you closer to the venue.
RULES OF THUMB
1.) Expect to pay approximately $1.00/minute for Ubers/Lyfts starting at $9.00
2.) Download the CURB app if you don’t want to get ripped off by taxi drivers
3.) Subway fares are currently $2.90/person. Allow for a 15 minute buffer to account for delays

Other Options
For those of you using AirBnB it should be noted that there is a ban on short-term rentals in the 5 boroughs meaning that this is largely only an option outside of NYC. That said…
The wonderful “sixth” borough of New York City; Hoboken/Jersey City is close enough to make good time, but note that this necessitates the use of at least two metro systems. If staying in Hoboken/Jersey City, take the PATH to 34th Street then transfer to an appropriate Queens bound MTA line.
AirBnB is an option in Long Island, but note that it will necessitate renting a car or taking the LIRR to get back to NYC with Queens as your entry point.
In general, we recommend renting a car if you are not familiar with NJ transit/Metro North/LIRR transit systems.
For the Groom’s Side of the family if staying with my Mother and Father in Stanhope, NJ; please note that you will be approximately 2 hours outside of the city by train/bus + 15 minutes by train to the ceremony.
